The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) sanctioned girls’ wrestling in January 2022, meaning girls’ wrestling will be a varsity sport with an official state championship starting with the 2022-23 season. Corey Rasmussen, a former Valley wrestler, has worked with the wrestlers for the past five seasons, and will lead the team as head coach. Rasmussen and former Valley girls’ wrestlers, including Jazmyn Knutson, will run the camp. Knutson is Valley’s first and only girls’ wrestling athlete to place in the Iowa Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association Girls’ State Championships.

Please contact Corey Rasmussen at rasmussenc@wdmcs.org with any questions.
