Living History Farms - Junior Counselor
The Junior Counselor plays an important role in making the day camp experience at Living History Farms a fun educational experience! Junior Counselors assist Staff Counselors in providing a positive, inclusive, engaging, fun, supportive learning environment, where all feel welcome and valued. Junior Counselors will act as role models for campers, while learning and developing their own leadership, creativity, and communication skills.

Dance Without Limits
Dance Without Limits is a non-profit organization that provides a dance program for children with disabilities who may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience the joy of dance. We run 7-10 week sessions each fall and spring and are seeking volunteers for our spring 2023 session! Dance experience is not required.
Classes are held on Sunday afternoons at the School of Classical Ballet and Dance in West Des Moines. Each class is approximately an hour long and you can volunteer for up to three. Volunteers stay with their same class(es) throughout the session.

UnityPoint Health- Des Moines - Iowa Lutheran Volunteen Program
The teen program is offered Monday through Thursday from 4-6PM. During this time, volunteers help support the hospital by replenishing items like surgical towels in outpatient surgery, patient gowns on patient floors, and medical equipment. The Volunteen program will also be in charge of running the hospital's “Comfort Cart”, which will offer different items to patients to make their stay more comfortable! Adaptive Sports Iowa - Split the Pot Raffle
The Iowa Wild hockey team has invited Adaptive Sports Iowa to be the recipients of the "Split the Pot" raffle that takes place at all home games throughout the 2022-23 season. The volunteers will assist in selling raffle tickets throughout the games up until the end of the second intermission. At that point, a drawing will take place and the proceeds raised during the game will be split between the winning ticket and Adaptive Sports Iowa. This is a tremendous fundraising opportunity for our organization that will have profound effects on our ability to serve our mission.
The system in place for the volunteers is extremely user-friendly. Each volunteer will have a wireless device that will print the ticket as well as update a real-time amount ticker on the scoreboard.
Each volunteer will receive free admission into the game and a free ticket to another game!

Silver Cord volunteers can earn 2 hours of Silver Cord credit per month for assembling laundry pod packets for our food pantry clients. Take one laundry pod, wrap in a dryer sheet, tie with a ribbon or twist tie and put in a Ziplock. Each Ziploc should have five laundry pods packets in it. Volunteers should plan to donate at least 8 Ziplock bags of five apiece. After delivery, your parent can sign off on your service. Thank you!

Clive Community Services - Food Pantry & Clothes Closet Shopper
Pantry volunteers walk alongside clients as they select their food and personal care products. Guide clients through the shopping area, let them know how many items they can select from each category, help clients with low English literacy identify products, bag groceries, help clients load items into their vehicle as needed, receive donations, and help tidy up at the end of the shift. Clothes closet volunteers call clients in one at a time, assist clients in finding what they need, and tidy up between clients. The minimum volunteer age is 14. Activities can include, but not limited to: one-on-one interactions with Assisted Living and Memory Care residents (who vary on the congnitive level spectrum of dementia); Manicures; Reading Aloud; Arts; Crafts; Social Hours; Decorating; Assisting with parties and social events. If willing, leading an activity or sharing musical talents; participating in scheduled activities and assisting residents to participate in those activities; building meaningful friendships and relationships; card games with residents; etc.
