Watch Valley High School’s 2020 Scholar candidates present their Capstone projects! Each Capstone is focused on a specific academic area. As in-person presentations cannot take place in 2020, we wanted to recognize our Scholar candidates and give them a place to publicly share their projects with our district community.

Language Arts Scholar Candidate

Caroline interviewed 15 Iowans about their personal history and culture.

Science Scholar Candidate

Mariel monitored and compared water quality with Polk County Conservation.

Science Scholar Candidate

Gwyn conducted CRISPR-Cas9 gene manipulation research with Corteva.

Carsen Codel

Science Scholar Candidate

Carsen studied the effects of 10-10-10 fertilizer application on microbiome levels.
