Valley Southwoods Freshman High School Presents “Treasure Island”

TreasureIsland posterValley Southwoods Freshman High School’s Performing Arts Department presents its fall play, “Treasure Island,” in a new adaptation by Ken Ludwig.

Inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic adventure novel, Ludwig’s “Treasure Island” features larger-than-life characters like the evil Blind Pew, the dangerous Billy Bones, and bold female pirate Anne Bonney. At the center of it all are Jim Hawkins, a 14-year-old boy who longs for adventure, and the infamous Long John Silver, who is a complex study of good and evil, perhaps the most famous hero-villain of all time.

Valley Southwoods’ production features ninth-graders Gavin Beedon as Jim Hawkins, Aisling Hallahan as Long John Silver, Avery Redford as Blind Pew, Gwen Sobrado as Billy Bones, and Ellie Wellman as Anne Bonney.

More than 50 Valley Southwoods Freshman High School students make up the rest of the cast and crew, with Katie Kilkenny, Mia Rand, and Sophia Vratsinas as stage managers.
