A graduating student's back of his graduation capValley High School seniors are entering a very important and exciting time in their education. We look forward to the many events to celebrate our seniors during the month of May. Here are some of the events, activities, and dates seniors and senior families may want to know:

AP Testing

Advanced Placement testing will take place May 7 through May 18, 2018.

Seniors Come Home

Seniors who attended an elementary school in the district as sixth-graders are invited to return to their home elementary school to celebrate their graduation on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the following times:  Jordan Creek and Western Hills at 2:20 p.m.; Clive Learning Academy, Fairmeadows, and Hillside at 2:45 p.m.; Crossroads Park at 3 p.m.; and Crestview School of Inquiry and Westridge at 3:15 p.m.

Senior Fees and Fines

All fees and fines must be paid by NOON, Friday May 18, 2018, or they will be turned over to a collection agency after our commencement ceremony.

Honors Recognition Night—Wednesday, May 23, 2018, in the Valley High School Auditorium

National Honor Society induction will begin at 6 p.m. The induction program will be followed by the Senior Awards and Scholarship Recognition at 7 p.m.

Commencement Practice (REQUIRED)—Thursday, May 24, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the Drake University Knapp Center

This is the only practice for the actual commencement program. The practice will last approximately two hours. Caps and gowns will be issued at commencement practice.

Commencement—Sunday, May 27, 2018, at 12:30 p.m. at the Knapp Center

The doors to the Knapp-Bell Center will open at 11:15 a.m. Graduates must be in their seats in the Bell Center by 11:15 a.m. in order to participate. No parents or guests in the Bell Center during seating. There will not be any reserved seating for parents or the public in the Knapp Center. There is a designated handicap seating area in the Knapp Center. Handicap parking and entrance is east of the Knapp Center in parking lot #3.

Purchasing Braids or Stoles

Students receiving an honor medallion, Silver Cord, or shoulder braid may keep these items. Students receiving a colored stole ($20) can purchase these items. The student can pay for the colored stole by cash or check made out to Valley High School when returning to the Bell Center after the ceremony to receive their diploma.

Remember: All school regulations and policies are in effect for these events. Seniors, please do not place yourself in a situation which could jeopardize your involvement in any of these activities.
