Culture and Access
In partnership with students, staff, and the community, West Des Moines Community Schools is committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive learning environment where all students and staff can belong and thrive. The district is actively engaged in ongoing learning opportunities for students and staff. Culture and access efforts are supported by teams at each of our school buildings.
Community Engagement Events
WDMCS students, families, staff, and community members are invited to join us for community engagement events several times throughout the school year. The district will share culture and access updates and learning on special topics.

Oct. 1, 2024: Learn about our district, engage in breakout sessions, take part in community circles, and connect with our district affinity groups.

Feb. 18, 2025: Get culture and access updates, engage in community building, learn about the importance of cultural humility, and hear about upcoming calendar observances.
