We appreciate the years of dedicated service of our WDMCS employees. When it comes time to retire, we will continue to provide support for this next stage of life. 

Participation in IPERS (Iowa Public Employees Retirement System) is mandatory for all full and part-time employees who are no longer high school aged. Contribution Rates (percent of Your Pre-Tax Pay). These percentages are determined by the Iowa Legislature.

• WDMCS Share = 9.44%
• Total Contribution = 15.73%

A health care flexible spending account helps you save money for medical, dental, and vision expenses for you and your family. You can set aside up to $3,300 each year for healthcare and up to $5,000 for childcare expenses, and it won't be taxed. The district takes the money out of your paycheck if you choose to join.

It's free to be part of the Medical Reimbursement or Dependent Care Plans, but you need to have district insurance. The plan lasts for a whole year, usually starting on the first day of a month, and it helps you manage your medical costs.

We understand life can bring unexpected challenges and events, and it's okay to ask for support. Our employee assistance program offers a confidential resource for employees to consult regarding a variety of topics, such as family and personal relationships, emotional or mental health, work and life balance, and financial or legal concerns.

Employee and Family Resources' (EFR) counseling professionals will work with employees to understand their concerns and connect them with appropriate resources. The first three sessions are free and services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

In partnership with beBetter Health, the program offers an array of programs, challenges, and activities to help you along your health and wellness journey. All employees on the WDMCS health plan are eligible to earn up to $275 in payroll incentives.

Life and disability insurance policies are important benefits to consider. We offer group-term life insurance as well as long-term disability to protect your most valuable asset: your income. Employees also have the option to purchase supplemental life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance.
