Preschool Enrollment

• Children must be 4 years of age on or before Sept. 15 for the 4-year-old classes.
• Preschool is half a day, four days per week. (See all times above.)
• Parent/guardians must complete all enrollment forms.
• Completing online enrollment does not guarantee your child a spot at a Tiger Cubs Preschool.
• Parent/guardians are responsible for transportation and attendance of their child.

Request a Tiger Cubs placement for your child by completing WDMCS’ online enrollment. 

You will need certain information and documents to get started. Any documents can be scanned and uploaded online. 

All students need: 

• Proof of Age. Proof of age is required for all new WDMCS students. Documents are listed below.
• Proof of residency. The student’s and parent/guardian’s names and addresses must match on proof of residency documents, listed below. 
  • Note: Tiger Cubs Preschool enrollment for 2023-24 is now open to in- and out-of-district families.
• Immunization Records. Iowa law requires parent/guardians to verify certain immunizations. Required Immunizations (based on age)
• Health History. Please enter general health history information for each student. 
• Do Not Release Information. You will be asked if photos or videos of your student can be taken. In addition, this allows student information to be listed in school yearbooks and directories.

Enroll Online Now

WDMCS will email you about your Tiger Cubs placement by March 2024. You can confirm or release the placement using an online form. They might also ask for any missing documents. In August 2024, your Tiger Cubs teacher will schedule a visit with you.

Once you finish these steps, your child is enrolled and ready for preschool!

Note: This process is only for Tiger Cubs Preschool. Community preschools have a different registration process starting in late December or early January. Contact the preschool directly for their process. WDMCS families will update student information later in the spring through online enrollment.

The Statewide Voluntary Preschool Program (SVPP) provides high-quality preschool opportunities for 4-year-old children. WDMCS district receives funding from the Iowa Department of Education for approximately 400 4-year-old children to attend preschool. This program is for children who will be 4-years-old on or before Sept. 15 of the school year for which they are enrolling.
