WDMCS Tutoring Resources
The following resources are provided directly through the district.
High School Academic Resource
Academic resource is designed for students needing to make up work or to acquire special help. Academic resource is available 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. It is located in the Media Center and is staffed by Valley teachers.

Tutor Directory
The tutor directory is provided as a resource for West Des Moines Community Schools students and parents.
Instructions for Viewing Directory
The directory is categorized by elementary, junior high, and high school tutors. Each tutor includes contact information, hourly rates, and subjects tutored.

Become a Tutor
If you are interested in being listed in the Community Education Tutor Directory, please complete one of the following applications.
The WDMCS certified staff application should only be completed by certified staff who are currently employed by the district.
WDMCS Certified Staff Tutor Application
The general tutor application should be completed by certified staff who do not work for WDMCS or by other individuals who wish to tutor.

Connexions Tutoring
ConneXionsTutoring is a free online tutoring website run by high-achieving high school students. It was created to alleviate some of the stresses of academics due to COVID-19, by providing a few free virtual tutoring sessions for students in grades K-12. Students and parents can sign up by clicking on our Sign Up page and selecting a meeting time with their preferred tutor.

Gemini Co. Tutoring Support
Started by two sisters from VHS, they came up with a mission to give back to their community after noticing the pandemic's effect on staying academically motivated. They were inspired to create a program that supports historically marginalized students, with free and private tutoring.

LearningExpress provides tests, tutorials, and eBooks on a variety of subjects. You can use your local library card to register.
