PBIS at Clive
-
Our school is participating in an important district initiative, Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS). The PBIS process is used to focus on improving our school’s ability to teach and support positive behavior for all students.
Clive Learning Academy has developed a unified set of expectations for behavior in our school, commonly referred to as Clive Pride. Clive Pride stands for students showing our set of expectations of being Respectful, Responsible, Safe, and Caring every day, in all areas of our school.
Students are routinely taught, modeled, and provided with examples of common area expectations, along with other areas of our building (cafeteria, hallways, arrival, dismissal, restrooms).
PBIS is an approach to create a safe and productive learning environment where all can thrive. We know that students can only meet our expectations if they know what the expectations are and have frequent opportunities to practice them. Modeling expectations is an important part of the PBIS process.
