West Des Moines Community Schools is expanding its Tiger Cubs Preschool offerings with the launch of a new 3-year-old preschool option for the 2026-27 school year.

Tiger Cubs 3-Year-Old Preschool is a fee-based program that will offer a foundational learning experience tailored specifically to 3-year-old developmental milestones. 

"Expanding our early childhood options allows us to build strong educational foundations even earlier in a child's developmental journey," said Dr. Jeannette Barnes, early childhood special education and preschool program administrator at WDMCS. "Our team has carefully designed a curriculum that meets the unique social, emotional, and cognitive needs of 3-year-olds, giving them a safe, nurturing environment to explore and grow."

Classes begin Monday, Aug. 31 and will be held at Jordan Creek Elementary School in West Des Moines and Crestview School of Inquiry in Clive. Students meet four days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday) during the morning session (9:05 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. at Jordan Creek, 8:20 a.m. to 11:05 a.m. at Crestview).  

Students can begin the program at any time during the school year as long as age requirements are met. 

Program Details at a Glance

• Eligibility: Children who turn 3 years old on or before Sept. 15.
• Locations: Jordan Creek Elementary and Crestview School of Inquiry.
• Days per Week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
• Hours: 9:05 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. at Jordan Creek; 8:20 a.m. to 11:05 a.m. at Crestview
• Tuition: $450 per month ($300 per month reduced fee for qualifying families).
