All West Des Moines Community Schools buildings are closed Wednesday, March 5, due to severe weather conditions. Employees will not report to district buildings.

For students and parents, this announcement means:

• No classes will be held.
• No school-related evening activities will be held.
• Kids West child care is closed.
• No Community Education classes, activities, and programs will be held. This includes all facility use. All Community Education programs and services follow the decision of WDMCS for weather-related closings.
• No meals will be served. For updated menus, please check the district menu webpage. 
• No transportation services will be provided, including out-of-district services. 

For WDMCS employees, this announcement means:

• Certified staff are welcome to work from home or take leave.
• Salaried, 12-month employees are welcome to work from home or take leave.
• Hourly, 12-month employees and support staff need to work with their immediate supervisor to determine a plan.
• All employees should contact their immediate supervisor with questions.
