Valley High School's Class of 2026 earned 77 associate degrees and 105 certificates from Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) prior to Valley's commencement — a total of 182 credentials, all before graduating high school. 

Valley students have the opportunity to earn DMACC credits by taking Valley courses, at no cost to the student, thanks to Valley's concurrent enrollment partnership with the college. As part of the concurrent enrollment program, students can also use Valley credits to meet DMACC Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degree requirements.

In 2024-25, the program saved Valley students more than $2.6 million in tuition. 

"These results are a powerful reflection of the commitment, resilience, and ambition of our shared students, along with the incredible support provided by staff and district leadership," DMACC Work-Based Learning & Career Advantage Director Karen Swanson shared in an email. "Earning industry-recognized certifications and associate degrees while still in high school is an outstanding accomplishment, and we are incredibly proud of what our students and educators have achieved together."
