The Valley High School competition cheerleading team captured the program’s 13th state title when it won the Class 4A Cheer/Dance competition at the state championships Nov. 2 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines. The win marks the fourth consecutive year the Tigers have won a state championship.

Head coach Beth Ferguson’s squad scored 93 points during its routine, topping the 11-team field. Valley beat out runner-up Lewis Central (Council Bluffs) and third-place finisher Urbandale. View the full state championship results at iowacheercoaches.org.

In addition to the state championship win, Valley won the Class 4A Cheer/Dance competition at the Triton Challenge Cheerleading Competition on Oct. 27.
