Rob Randazzo, current associate principal at Hoover High School in Des Moines, has been named the next principal at Valley Southwoods Freshman High School.

Randazzo will begin his new role July 1, 2026, pending approval by the West Des Moines Community Schools Board of Education at its regular meeting Feb. 9. 

“Rob Randazzo is an experienced, innovative, and highly-respected educator with a proven record of providing support to both students and staff,” said Dr. Matt Adams, superintendent at West Des Moines Community Schools. “His vision aligns with the district’s strategic directions and we’re excited to see his leadership at Valley Southwoods.”

Randazzo’s career spans 27 years in middle and high school education. He has served as an associate principal at Hoover since 2023. Prior to that, he spent 17 years as a teacher and coach at Des Moines Public Schools’ Roosevelt High School and Merrill Middle School.

Randazzo will take over for Dr. Lisa Hill, who has served as interim principal for the 2025-26 school year.
