Beginning the week of Feb. 24, 2025, parents or guardians of a child with an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) or an Individualized Education Program (IEP) will have access to the ACHIEVE Family Portal. This new platform from the Iowa Department of Education provides online access and special education data on behalf of learners from birth to age 21.
- The portal provides 24/7 access to your child’s early intervention (birth-3) or special education (3-21) information. The ACHIEVE Family Portal is an optional, online tool that supports your engagement in the IFSP/IEP process.
Here’s what you need to do:
- Watch for your Invitation: Once you have provided consent to receive special education services and provided your email address to your IEP team, you will receive an email from the Iowa Department of Education the week of Feb. 24 inviting you to create an account in the ACHIEVE Family Portal.
- Register for the Portal: Click the link in your email to start the registration process. Contact your learner’s special education teacher if you did not receive an invitation or need to update your email address.
- Enter your Learners ID: When creating your account you will need the last 4 digits of your learner’s state ID. You can access this in Infinite Campus or you can reach out to your learner’s special education teacher.
