Community Education - Jump Start Volunteer - ONE SPOT LEFT!
Jump Start is a fun week filled with activities designed to help students prepare for the upcoming school year. Volunteers are needed to assist the teachers. Each morning will be spent refreshing students’ math, reading, and writing skills, while the afternoons will be filled with art, P.E., and science! Valley Community Center - Youth Golf Camp Volunteers
Volunteers ages 15 and above are needed to help kids learn the game of golf. You do not have to have experience with golf to volunteer! We will be teaching very basic skills and having fun!
4-6 year old camp is from 8:30 to 11:30am
7 to 9 year old camp is from 1:30 to 4:30pm
We are asking volunteers to arrive 15 minutes before the camp starts and stay 15 minutes after the camp is done. We will provide lunch each day in between each age group camp! If you are able to volunteer, but can only do certain days/times, please email firstname.lastname@example.org

Children's Cancer Connection - Concours d'Elegance
The Des Moines Concours d’Elegance™ is a premier automotive exhibition held in downtown Des Moines. The Des Moines Concours is a community event, open to the public at no charge, and will present an invitation-only exhibition of more than 100 vintage and classic motor vehicles, selected to celebrate the fine art, design evolution and amazing innovations of motor vehicles through the years, as well as the talented designers and engineers that created them.
As the charity partner, Children's Cancer Connection relies on the support of many volunteers to ensure the success of this event. Volunteers are needed to help set up and tear down, staff merchandise tables, help participants register and much more.

Prevent Blindness Iowa - A Shot in the Dark Night Golf Outing
A Shot in the Dark 2021, an annual night golf outing benefiting Prevent Blindness Iowa. This unique event presents interesting challenges for all types of golfers and introduces them to the major disability of blindness as they test their skills at night.
Volunteers are needed to serve as Hole Marshals. Hole Marshals help keep the golfers on course through the challenges of golfing at night. All volunteers will be paired up, volunteers are encouraged to sign up with a friend.

Clive Community Services – Laundry Pod Packet (assembled at home)
Silver Cord volunteers can earn 2 hours of Silver Cord credit for assembling laundry pod packets for our food pantry clients. Take one laundry pod, wrap in a dryer sheet, tie with a ribbon or twist tie and put in a Ziplock. Each Ziploc should have five laundry pods packets in it. Volunteers should plan to donate at least 5-10 Ziplock bags full. Once you have made five pod packets put them in a zip-lock baggie. After delivery, your parent can sign off on your service. Blank Park Zoo - Dream Night
DREAMNIGHT is back! Blank Park Zoo is one of nearly 230 zoos and aquariums around the world in 37 countries to participate in Dream Night, an invitation-only event for children with special healthcare needs and their families.
The evening is completely cost-free to the families who are able to attend the event. Children, and adults, will have a magical time at the zoo with lots of fun craft activities, special animal demonstrations, a few special guests, dinner and much, much more!

Help is needed for the After School Arts Program's 13th Annual Summer Arts Camp, July 26-30, in Evelyn K. Davis Park (15th and Forest in Des Moines—off-street parking available). No arts experience required — just a willingness to jump in and help kids stay engaged with the arts. Activities (led by Teaching Artists) include painting, sculpture, breakdance, drama games/improv, fiber art, and more. Clive Community Services - Food Pantry Shopper
Clive Community Services is seeking Silver Cord volunteers for Food Pantry shifts. Clients wait in their car for their order to be filled. You will be filling their order from inside the building.
First time volunteers are asked to arrive 15 minutes early to receive instruction on shopping procedures. All volunteers must wear a mask and follow CCS COVID policies. A copy will be provided to you.
If you or anybody in your family has any COVID-like symptoms, or if you know you have been exposed, you are asked to cancel your shift and reschedule after two weeks.

ASAP - Riverview Ruckus
ASAP, the After School Arts Program, needs volunteers to help manage the art booth at Riverview Ruckus, a new back-to-school-themed community outreach event sponsored by Young Variety.
No art experience necessary, just a willingness to greet families and help children engage with the art activity. Duties may include setting up and breaking down tables or canopies, replenishing supplies, explaining or demonstrating the art project, cleaning up, and more.
DMARC - Meals from the Market at Downtown Farmer's Market
Produce Collection: Volunteers will be stationed along 3 zones. Zones are sectioned areas throughout the market to make it easy for volunteers and staff to connect with vendors and transport donated items.
Collecting donated produce in carts, helping a DMARC staff person load donations into a truck, and if able helping to unload donations at the DMARC warehouse (1435 Mulberry Street in downtown Des Moines)
Helping to put materials/supplies back in the totes and break down tables and stools at the MFTM booth
All volunteers please arrive a few minutes before your shift and meet at the Meals from the Market bright yellow tent, located near the corner of 3rd and Court. Look for DMARC Staff members for further instructions. (Detailed information and map of the market will be provided in an email after signing up)
Support/Training: You will be provided with instructions and ongoing guidance from a DMARC warehouse staff person and Team Captain for the duration of your shift.

You will help us keep the museum tidy and assist in our thorough cleaning procedures to keep everyone safe and healthy. AHeinz57 Pet Rescue
(Rolling newspapers for rescued pets - papers provided!)
This is perhaps one of the easiest volunteer jobs ever! Rolls of potty-training newspapers are needed for puppies in foster care. A volunteer from AHeinz57 will drop off a stack of newspapers and rubber bands for you, and pick them up when you are done. All you do is roll the papers up! There is a short video available to teach you exactly what to do.
