VHS - MarchMasters Uniform Prep or Fittings
You will be helping marching band students with uniform try-ons in the uniform room and in the band room. We need help with fitting shoes, gauntlets, hats, and getting uniforms in bags properly and hung on the correct rack so they are ready to go for the season. Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa - 2022 Iowa State Fair Volunteer
Some heroes wear capes… and some scoop ice cream! That’s right, Thin Mints aren’t the only sweet way to support the Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa. We are excited to be back for another year of partnership at the Iowa State Fair with the Midwest Dairy Association!
We've made some changes, including shortened shift times, and have exciting updates for this year. We need 75 volunteers every day (aged 14 +) of the 2022 Iowa State Fair to help us serve up smiles and ice cream for fairgoers. Roles are indoors in air conditioning and include scooping ice cream, mixing shakes, pouring milk, restocking cups, straws, napkins, order runners, and running the cash register.
All Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa volunteers get a free t-shirt, hat, and ticket to the Iowa State fair for the day. Oh, and did we mention free ice cream?!
We’re seeking individual volunteers as well as teams of friends and supporters! Proceeds from this partnership stay 100% local and fund critical Girl Scout programs across central Iowa.

Silver Cord volunteers can earn 2 hours of Silver Cord credit per month for assembling laundry pod packets for our food pantry clients. Take one laundry pod, wrap in a dryer sheet, tie with a ribbon or twist tie and put in a Ziplock. Each Ziploc should have five laundry pods packets in it. Living History Farms - Exhibit Host
Help engage and monitor visitors in our newest traveling exhibit, "American Farmer". You will help to answer visitors' questions (information provided) and make sure visitors are following rules within the exhibit space.
"American Farmer" celebrates the living spirit of our heartland through the faces and voices of the people who keep it alive. Featuring forty-five full color and black-and-white portraits by Paul Mobley and interviews with farmers across the United States - from cattle ranchers to strawberry growers - "American Farmer" tells the honest and inspiring stories of the true stewards of our land.
This is a great volunteer experience for those who are sensitive to heat ( the exhibit is located in a climate-controlled building with available seating).

Clive Community Services - Food Pantry & Clothes Closet Shopper
Pantry volunteers walk alongside clients as they select their food and personal care products. Guide clients through the shopping area, let them know how many items they can select from each category, help clients with low English literacy identify products, bag groceries, help clients load items into their vehicle as needed, receive donations, and help tidy up at the end of the shift. Clothes closet volunteers call clients in one at a time, assist clients in finding what they need, and tidy up between clients. The minimum volunteer age is 14. URGENT NEED - AHeinz57 Pet Rescue
(Rolling newspapers for rescued pets - papers provided!)
This is perhaps one of the easiest volunteer jobs ever! Rolls of potty-training newspapers are needed for puppies in foster care. Newspapers need to be picked up and then the rolls are dropped back off. This can be done anytime. Instructions and the address will be emailed to you after you contact Teri Nizzi. All you do is roll the papers up! There is a short video available to teach you exactly what to do.

Wildlife patients are raised in specific ways to heal and return to the wild. You must be able to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Duties include but are not limited to: Preparing food, feeding animals, doing laundry, washing dishes, sweeping, restocking and organizing supplies. All volunteers will have the opportunity to attend the release of patients back into the wild.

Bickford Senior Living - Regular Volunteer
Volunteers will come and assist the Activity Director with activities. Activities can include, but not limited to: one-on-one interactions with Assisted Living and Memory Care residents (who vary on the congnitive level spectrum of dementia); Manicures; Reading Aloud; Arts; Crafts; Social Hours; Decorating; Assisting with parties and social events. If willing, leading an activity or sharing musical talents; participating in scheduled activities and assisting residents to participate in those activities; building meaningful friendships and relationships; card games with residents; etc.
