Request Field Trip Transportation Overview

  • Log in to Travel Tracker

Starting April 1, 2022, West Des Moines Community Schools (WDMCS) is using a program called Travel Tracker to request and schedule busing for field trips. Teachers, secretaries, and other staff will be able to enter their field trip requests online and see scheduled trips in a calendar.

    Step 1: Get Registered

Please register with Travel Tracker at your earliest convenience. The screen should say “West Des Moines Community Schools IA” at the top and prompt you to enter an email address. Use your WDMCS email address to access the system.

You will receive an email that contains a link to activate your registration within 30 minutes of your registration. If you don't, please check your spam. Your email address will be your login.

    Step 2: Submit Requests

Once your registration is activated, you can request new trips and view existing ones. Travel Tracker has provided an instruction video and a Quick Reference Guide with the steps you’ll need to follow. Each request is reviewed by an approver — usually a building principal or your direct supervisor — then sent to Transportation for final approval.
