    Congratulations to the following students on being selected as All State Musicians on their Band Instruments:

    Tyler Emanuel, Band - Cornet 2
    Henry Golay, Orchestra - Oboe
    Zander Muntz, Orchestra - Bass Trombone
    Luke Wittrock, Band - Bassoon
    Jay Bell, 1st Alternate - Trombone
    Bryson Kinnan, 2nd Alternate - Tuba

    All 29 band students who auditioned were examples of the Valley Standard in action.

    SENIORS: portriat submission deadline is Friday, October 29 by 5 p.m. Proofing period (right photo, name spelling, etc.) is November 3-17. RECOGNITION/BABY ADS are due by Friday, November 19.

  • FCA Huddle

  • Archery Parent Meeting - November 1, 2021

    Tiger Archery Club will have a Parent Meeting 11-1-2021 at 6:15 PM at Jordan Creek Elementary cafeteria for parents or guardians of students interested in the Tiger Archery Club.  Enter through the east doors. We have also set up a Google meet if you are unable to attend in person.  We would like to have you all join if you are available but if you have been in the club before, there may not be much new information.  We encourage parents of 6th graders and 9th graders plus all new families to make an effort to attend.

    After the meeting, you may sign your archer up using the following link if they would like to be in the club.
     
     
    Registration and payment of fees is due no later than 11-8-2021 so we can order team shirts to hopefully arrive before our first tournament.  You can mail a check to Jordan Creek Elementary, Attn: Tiger Archery Club, 4105 Fuller Road, West Des Moines, IA 50265, drop it off with the secretaries at Jordan Creek, bring a check for fees to the parent meeting, or Venmo @TigerArchery-Club.  Last 4 of the phone number is 8756 and there is a photo of a target with arrows.  Please include the name of your archer(s) with Venmo or with your check in the memo area.  Checks should be payable to: Tiger Archery Club.
     
    Fees per family:
    1 archer: $75
    2 archers: $100
    3+ archers: $125
     
    We will also need a NASP waiver filled out and turned in by the first practice.
     
    Practices will start after fall break and a practice sign-up email will be sent to those who register.

  • AUDITIONS for IHSSA!

    It's IHSSA time!

    Auditions will occur during ENCORE for the next 2 weeks. Too, students may audition afterschool on Tuesday, November 9 and Wednesday, November 10.

    Pick up an audition packet in Ms. Hansen's drama room.

  • C4 Spoken Word Night on Nov. 4!

    Fall C4 is right around the corner! Every year, the staff of INK Literary Magazine host two spoken word, poetry, and artwork nights called C4. Fall C4, which is being held on Thursday, November 4th, at 6:30 pm in the Valley High School Media Center, is an amazing opportunity to both listen to some fabulous student-written work and to perform your own original work! We welcome submissions from all the schools in the WDMCS district and would love to hear, or see, your work there! Please email Reagan Mann, rm37671@wdmcs.org, for more information on submitting.

  • Pi515 Principal Fall Tech Mentorship Program

    Pi515 and Principal Financial Group present the Tech Mentorship Program for high school students. During this program students can shadow tech professionals, tour the Principal campus, learn new tech and soft skills, and build their resume. The program will focus on building confidence, college readiness (applying for scholarships), learning progesssional, technical and soft skills, resume building and mentorship with Pi515, Principal and Hy-Vee staff. There will be two cohorts of this program (students will be assigned a location based on their sign up information), and there is space available in the second cohort at Hy-Vee with dates to be determined. Classes will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-5:30pm.

  • Dodgeball Tournament

    Valley High School will be hosting its annual dodgeball tournament on November 22nd at 7 pm. All proceeds will benefit YES Shelters. Forms must be completed and turned in BEFORE November 17th. Students who turn in forms after this date WILL NOT be able to participate.
