Crossroads Park to Transition Back to On-Site Learning Sept. 21
We are happy to share that our in-person Crossroads Park learners will be able to transition back on-site Monday, Sept. 21. The WDMCS Operations Department has fully disinfected the building. We also worked with the Iowa Department of Education and determined a waiver was not required for students to learn online the week of Sept. 15-18. This means no days will need to be made up at the end of the year for this situation.
As a reminder, we temporarily transitioned Crossroads Park to online learning because as of Friday, Sept. 11, more than 33% of building staff were absent due to either testing positive for COVID-19 or needed to quarantine due to being considered a close contact.
By Monday, Sept. 21, we believe the percentage of staff who can return to school will be able to support on-site student learning. We appreciate the flexibility our staff, families, and students demonstrated this week to remain connected while students engaged in online learning.
We appreciate the partnership of our WDMCS families and staff members as we work together to limit the spread of COVID-19. Please continue to practice the recommended preventative steps to remain healthy.
