Adam Shearer - DMACC Automotive Signing Day

Valley Senior Earns Scholarship For DMACC Automotive Mechanics Technology Program

Congratulations to Valley High School senior Adam Shearer, who won a $500 scholarship to attend Des Moines Area Community College’s automotive mechanics technology program upon graduation.

Shearer was part of a special signing ceremony Monday, March 9, at DMACC. Additionally, he received a $250 voucher toward Snap-On Tools.

The signing day specifically recognized the first students among approximately 100 who will join DMACC’s automotive programs in the fall, with each student signing an official letter of intent. The DMACC Automotive Signing Day was held in connection with National Career and Technical Education (CTE) Signing Day.

“Just as student-athletes who commit to play a college sport are celebrated,” DMACC said in a news release, “the DMACC Automotive Signing Day ceremony is designed to honor students who are entering a technical field and to emphasize the importance of their career choice. ”

Congratulations, Adam!
