Celebrate School Lunch That Rocks with WDMCS

The “School Lunch: What’s on Your Playlist?” theme spotlights the way today’s school cafeterias serve up healthy menu items students enjoy while offering increased choice and customization.

National School Lunch Week Contests

Pizza Party Contest

Pizza gifEach school has the chance to win a lunchtime pizza party by making their cafeteria reflect how much school lunch rocks. Students will work with WDMCS Nutrition Services and building staff to make their lunchrooms extra rock ‘n’ roll with decorations, activities, and maybe even costumes and karaoke. Schools that take part will be entered to win an all-school pizza party, with Pizza Hut pizza replacing the regular pizza as the hot lunch option on Friday, Oct. 25.

Elementary Bluetooth Speaker Giveaway

SpeakerStudents at our elementary schools also have the chance to win a color-changing iHome Bluetooth speaker. Every time a student eats school lunch during National School Lunch Week, one ticket with their name will be entered into a drawing for the speaker. To earn even more tickets, students can:

  • Submit lyrics to a song about loving school lunch (5 tickets)
  • Draw or color a picture of your favorite school lunch (5 tickets)
  • Share your favorite meal or school lunch memory on social media by tagging #wdmschoollunch (5 tickets)

At the end of National School Lunch week, the pizza party winner will be announced, along with two lucky students at each elementary school who will receive Bluetooth speakers.
