A Valley float in the Homecoming Parade

Homecoming 2018: Sept. 24-29

Homecoming 2018 is right around the corner and will include activities for our schools, WDMCS families, and the entire community. This year’s Homecoming theme is “TigerLand: Where the Magic Begins.”

Community Events

  • A map of the 2015 Homecoming Parade routeMonday, Sept. 24: Powderpuff football game (7 p.m. at Valley Stadium)
  • Thursday, Sept. 27: Parade (5:45 p.m.)
  • Thursday, Sept. 27: Barbecue and Tiger Carnival (6:15 p.m. in Valley Stadium parking lot. All proceeds benefit West Des Moines Booster Pak.)
  • Friday, Sept. 28: Homecoming football game vs. Urbandale (7 p.m. at Valley Stadium)

Dress-up Days

  • Monday: Sleeping Beauties (PJ Day)
  • Tuesday: Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum (Twin Day)
  • Wednesday: Monsters University (College Gear Day)
  • Thursday: Moana (Beach Day)
  • Friday: Tigger, Rajah, Shere Khan (Tiger/Spirit Day)

Homecoming Dance (8-11 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 29, at Iowa Events Center)

  • Tickets: $10 each.
    • Buy during lunch at Valley and Valley Southwoods Sept. 26-28 or at the door the night of the dance.
  • Bringing a date from a different school? Turn in an approval form by 4 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 26.
  • Attire: No jeans, hats, chains, canes, athletic wear/jerseys, or costumes.
  • Volunteers are needed to chaperone the dance and sell tickets.

Homecoming Court

Valley High School and Valley Southwoods Freshman High School students will vote during advisory the week of homecoming. The king and queen will be announced at halftime of the Homecoming football game.
