WDMCS School Board Approves Resolution Supporting Retention of Junior High Sites
At a special meeting on July 25, the West Des Moines Community Schools (WDMCS) Board of Education approved a resolution supporting the retention of the Indian Hills and Stilwell junior high campuses as attendance centers for students as part of the developing facilities master plan.
The resolution states that “the Board of Education believes that the highest and best educational use of the Indian Hills campus and the Stilwell campus is to use these resources as attendance centers serving students.”
The Board of Education drafted the resolution to assure community members that it supports the continued use of current WDMCS school sites as attendance centers.
Throughout the facilities master plan development process, the district has worked to ensure that students’ instructional needs were driving construction solutions. District administration will continue to work with Shive-Hattery and BrainSpaces, Inc. to best support student needs.
