Visitor Management System Integrated Districtwide This January
New visitor check-in system Raptor will be integrated districtwide in January 2018. Several WDMCS buildings helped test the system to enhance building security and safety for students. That testing period is complete, and WDMCS will permanently use the new system in all school buildings beginning on Jan. 16.
Raptor enhances school security by reading a visitor’s driver’s license or other approved identification and comparing information to a sex offender database. The system alerts building administrators if a match is found and prints a visitor’s sticker if no match is found. The sticker will identify the person as an approved visitor and include the date, time, and a picture of the visitor.
Student safety is the district’s highest priority. The Raptor system will help track who is in every school building, which is part of keeping students and staff safe.
