Welcome to the New School Year!
Our work this year will continue to be driven by our strategic plan initiatives in the following areas: Culture of Learning, Professional Learning, Teaching for Learning, and Systemness. We will continue to focus on teaching and learning so that our students graduate ready for college and career.
Last school year, we were one of the first districts in the state to receive the Teacher Leadership and Compensation grant. I was very impressed with the collaboration that happened as a result.
This year, we are the first district in the state to implement the New Tech Network educational model. Our district offers New Tech at two elementaries, and on one seventh-grade team at both junior high schools. District educators attended a summer conference where they learned New Tech skills and strategies and gained an even better understanding of the model.
All educators and families want to make a difference for students. I invite you to think about something written long ago. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” I am confident that we can go where there is no path and blaze a trail of success.
Welcome to the 2015-16 school year,
Superintendent Dr. Lisa Remy
