Olympian Visits Jordan Creek
Wellness and character were the themes of the day at Jordan Creek as four-time Olympic triathlete Hunter Kemper spoke to students at the school.
Kemper will be competing in the Hy-Vee Triathlon on Sunday. One student asked what his training schedule was like as a triathlete. He told the packed gym that he swims three miles a day, spends 40 miles per day on his bike and runs 8-10 miles each day. That works out to about 30 hours of training each week.
He stressed to students that wellness is important no matter how you like to exercise, whether you are training for a triathlon or simply paying with friends outside.
“What wellness ultimately means is being active and making healthy choices,” he told students.
