Studies have shown that if students do not eat healthy meals during the summer, it is hard for them to learn in the fall.
The program has been around for more than ten years, and has continued to feed students ever since. The program typically feeds 700 children a day, which totals to 14,000 meals a month. The program offers the same style and type of food as meals during the school year.
