Valley High School Student Hosts Camp
Valley High School student Bailey Cook held a one-week day camp last week for children in her neighborhood. Cook started Camp Melody seven years ago as something fun for her younger sister and her friends to do. The campers, ranging in age from preschool through fifth grade, learned songs, acted out skits, made crafts, and played games. At the end of the week the campers performed their jungle theme songs and skits for parents.
Cook and her fellow counselors raise money from a bake sale to cover the camp’s costs, allowing all kids to attend for free.
Cook is involved in drama and music at Valley, and is interested in pursuing music in the future.
