Valley High School Offers a Look Inside Its New Addition

Valley High School will offer the public a look inside its new three-story addition Sunday, February 24 from 1-3 p.m. The addition includes a new cafeteria, science labs, family and consumer science labs and a FEMA safe shelter which houses a new wrestling room and weight room.

Please enter through the doors on the new addition, which are located on the west side of the building off 39th Street.

Students will be stationed throughout the addition to help provide direction and information about the building. Some of the highlights are

  • New Science Labs. There are 14 science labs specially designed to meet the specific needs of each science discipline.
  • Family & Consumer Science Labs. These labs feature high-quality equipment and space to meet updated national standards.
  • Café V. Did you know that Valley has its own restaurant open to the public? Café V provides real-life culinary arts experience for students right here on campus.
  • Cafeteria. With six serving lines, students can choose from Mexican, Asian, and Italian Bistro items, deli sandwiches, grab and go fruits and vegetables, build your choices such as burgers, tacos and pizza, and more. The seating area has bright natural light and a variety of seating options. Check out the water bottle refill station!
  • FEMA Safe Shelter. Valley received a $1.74 million FEMA grant to include a safe shelter in the addition. The bottom floor of the addition can house our students during severe weather, and also serves as a safe shelter for our community.
  • Fitness & Weight Rooms. When not in use as emergency shelter, the bottom floor houses a fitness area and weight room.
