In the fall of 1995, Walnut Creek Campus opened its doors at 1101 Fifth Street in West Des Moines, Iowa.  By the time the school year began, 120 students were enrolled.  A night school session was added early the first year to accommodate the waiting list of approximately 100 students.  By 1996, the school expanded next door, using Upper Iowa University classroom space.  The school space expanded again as we moved to our present Eighth Street location.

Today, a staff of 29 serves more than 200 students.  WCC is a North Central Association accredited school.  The student population reflects the economic diversity of our communities, with students coming from all areas of the district, as well as the greater Des Moines area.
