Athletics are the muscle of Valley’s strong tradition of success. Opportunity to participate in 20 different sports bringout the best in student athletes. Students learn the importance of training, discipline, dedication and teamwork. Appearances at state tournaments are a common occurrence for Valley athletic teams, despite stiff competition in the Central Iowa Metropolitan League. Valley has been named the Des Moines Register's Iowa All-Sports Champion for the last five consecutive years.

Advice for Schools/Athletes Regarding MRSA
Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus is an infection that is resistant to commonly used antibiotics such as penicillins and currently available cephalosporins.  MRSA has emerged in communities and can cause infections in otherwise healthy people.  Most MRSA infections are skin infections that appear as red and swollen sores or boils.
