Friday, February 5th will be Coaches vs. Cancer Night at the Valley High School girls’ and boys’ basketball games against Waukee. Valley has been and is currently raising money to be donated to The John Stoddard Cancer Center. The sophomore boys’ and JV girls’ games start at 4:45 PM; Varsity girls’ at 6:15 PM; and Varsity boys’ at 7:45 PM.
Students, parents and the community are encouraged to participate in a “PINK OUT” night. A limited number of pink t-shirts will be on sale at the Friday, Feb. 5 game. The cost is $15.
Paper basketballs will be sold during lunch at Valley and before the Feb. 5th game for $1. When you purchase one, you may write the name of a friend, colleague, or family member who has passed away, is battling, or has survived cancer. These will be displayed in the fieldhouse lobby on Friday night.
Any cancer survivor who wishes to be recognized during the halftime of the boys’ game, may register at a table in the field house lobby. Valley staff cancer victims will be honored during halftime of the girls’ game. Thank you for your support of Coaches vs. Cancer, the Valley basketball program, and the fight against cancer.

Do you want to be part of a WIN/WIN situation?? Then sponsor a Valley Tigers Basketball Game for Dollars for Scholars! Interested individual or business sponsors donate money for every 3-point shot made by any Valley player during the basketball game. The cost of a sponsorship is $25.00 per 3-point shot with a minimum of $50.00 and a maximum of $200.00 for the night. After each 3-point shot made, your name will be announced as a proud sponsor of Dollars for Scholars. All donations are tax deductible. Support the Tigers, Support Dollars for Scholars and have your name or business name announced as a supporter to all who attend! A big WIN/WIN!! is part of the Culinary Arts Program at Valley High School. This “bistro café” is located in Room 321 at the high school where lunch will be served from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on most Fridays (please see schedule on Café V reservation page). Meals are $8. Take out meals will also be available.
District staff, families and community members are invited to enjoy lunch at Café V! Reservations are required and can be made by accessing the CAFE V HOMEPAGE or by calling 633-4122. (You will not receive a confirmation email when you make a reservation.) Bon appétit!
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the weather and school cancellations, there will be no Cafe V this week. Sorry to those who had reservations for Friday. We have one meal left for the Fall Semester, served on Dec 18th.
