Westridge to Undergo Construction

At its Feb. 11 meeting, the WDMCS School Board awarded the bid for the Westridge construction project to Larson and Larson Construction Management. The project is to be paid from sales and service tax funds, which is a budget separate from the general fund.

Westridge was constructed in 1990 and is an 85,000 square foot facility that was designed as a section of four classrooms at each grade level.

OPN Architects and Twin Rivers Engineering were hired in the spring of 2012 to help evaluate and implement the district’s long term strategic planning goals for the school. The goals focused mostly on upgrades to the building’s electrical and mechanical systems, as well as, updating and minor remodeling of the building’s interior finishes. OPN worked with the district to review current building conditions, past building upgrades, and also to determine a timetable for construction.
