Adventures After School and Weekend Learning Opportunities

final_coverLast spring, we surveyed WDMCS district parents about the dates, times, and locations of our Adventures classes, and had a great response. We want to thank you for your insight and let you know you have been heard. You will notice that the Adventures classes look a little different this fall with later class times that enable students to more easily participate in classes at buildings other than their home school. We are also offering many new and different learning opportunities for grades K-9, such as more art classes, technology classes, Parent/Child Cooking, and Yoga. Thank you for your input, and we hope to see your child in one of our Adventures classes this fall!

Valley High School seniors Andrew Austin, Joseph Brennan, Haley Gion, Alexa Kort, Quinn Nolin, and Samuel Throm have all been named National Merit Scholar Semifinalists.

These students are now in competition to become National Merit scholars, earning a $2,500 scholarship. Of the 1.5 million entrants, about 50,000 with the highest PSAT/NMSQT® Selection Index scores qualify for recognition in the National Merit® Scholarship Program. Academic records, school curriculum, test scores, an administrative recommendation, information about activities and leadership and an essay are used in the judging process.

Finalists will be announced in February and students will be notified by the end of June if they have been selected as a National Merit Scholar.
