We wish to take this opportunity to welcome you to Jordan
Creek Elementary School! Jordan Creek Elementary opened in 1992
and is one of the newest elementary buildings in West Des Moines.

- Current Enrollment: 770 Students in PK-6 Grade
- Approximately 33% of the JC students ride the bus with the remaining
77% walking or being transported privately
- Jordan Creek has 100 Certified Staff and Support Staff
- JC is one of two buildings in the district that has four sections
per grade level
- JC incorporates a variety of specialized programming for students
which includes:
- Early Childhood Special Education in a reverse inclusion
program which serves all WDMCSD special needs students ages
3-5 (6 sections).
- Self-Contained and level II programming for Kindergarten students.
- Special Needs Level I programs including both a pull-out
and a collaboration model.
- Level II programming with both pull-out and total inclusion
models.
- Building-Wide support team for students with Autism Spectrum
Disorder
- Reading Resource and Reading Recovery
- Extended Learning Program
Jordan Creek was opened in 1992 and is currently the largest elementary
building in the district. JC prides itself on a positive climate
and a family/community culture. We have a very active and involved
PFC (Parent/Faculty Club). The curriculum is implemented in a variety
of modes involving researched based teaching and learning practices
which include constructivist processes, hands-on approaches, differentiated
instruction, and technology assisted instruction to name a few.
Students also participle in Multi-age activates, Buddy Classes,
Peer Helpers Program, service learning activities, Junior Achievement,
Junior Great Books, Talking Canvas, and outdoor education. Jordan
Creek has implemented technology across the curriculum at all grade
levels. Jordan Creek is consistently at the forefront of academic
growth and achievement as well as furthering the development of
Emotional Intelligence and Character Education for our students.

Jordan Creek Elementary is a four-section school which has
an enrollment of approximately 710 students in pre-kindergarten through
sixth grade with a building capacity of 760.
Our general boundaries are as follows:
EASTERN: Equivalent of 8th Street south of Railroad,
south to Raccoon River.
SOUTHERN: Raccoon River, west to I-35, then south
to Dallas County/Madison County line, then west to Greenbrier
Estates area.
WESTERN: Greenbrier Estates Area, north to Raccoon
River, then east to to Grand Ave. East to I-35, then north to
EP True Parkway
NORTHERN: South side of EP True Parkway from
I-35 east to equivalent of 8th St. on Railroad.
