The West Des Moines Community Schools Foundation is dependent upon the generous gifts of our community members and businesses to fulfill our mission and expand opportunities for our students.

The Foundation accepts monetary donations – restricted and unrestricted – and also encourages supporters to consider it in their planned giving.

The Foundation maintains giving records for donor recognition purposes. The Foundation also has responsibility to ensure that gifts are used for their intended purpose and to inform donors of the manner in which their gifts are used. In order to communicate effectively with donors, the Foundation collects and maintains information about the donors. Because the Foundation records are not subject to public access, it is possible to ensure donor confidentiality.

The Foundation’s Board of Directors has adopted an administrative fee policy as a means of underwriting the costs of fundraising and the administration of accounts. Therefore, five percent (5%) of all gifts is allocated to the Foundation’s general operating account.
