Elementary schools in the WDMCS
will begin accepting names for the 2008-09 kindergarten class
on September 4, 2007.
If your child will be five years old on or before September 15, 2008 he/she will be eligible to start kindergarten next year. You may contact your neighborhood school or complete the form below to begin the enrollment process. If you have already contacted your neighborhood school and your child’s name is on the 08-09 kindergarten class list, there is no need to call again.
The district has made a commitment to meet the demand for full-day and half-day kindergarten. Most kindergarten classes will be in session all day. As enrollment figures are updated for the 2008-09 kindergarten class, the number of full and half day sections may be adjusted. It is possible that some families requesting full-day kindergarten will be capped out to a classroom outside their neighborhood attendance area.
At this time, the 28 sections of kindergarten (27 full-day and 1 half-day) for Fall 2008 are distributed as follows:
- Clive, Crestview, Crossroads Park, Fairmeadows, Hillside, Jordan Creek and Westridge Elementary Schools will have three sections of full-day kindergarten and no half-day sections of kindergarten per building.
- Phenix Elementary Early Childhood Center will have two sections of full-day kindergarten and no half-day sections.
- Western Hills Elementary School will have four sections of full-day kindergarten and no half-day sections.
- One half-day section will be located at a site to be determined soon. Transportation will be provided free of charge to students enrolled in this half-day class.
