Work continues on the underground portion of the mechanical
room extension to the north of the existing mechanical room
and also on reinforcing the roof joists in the woods lab.
Underground plumbing is nearly complete in the new chiller
room/auto shop on the south end of the building. All footings
have been poured and block work is scheduled to start the
week of 11/29. Work outside the dock area has commenced and
a new screen wall has been placed. Demolition has been completed
of the existing areas as scheduled. Water connection has
been made in 35th Street and some water line has been placed
in the area immediately west of the new chiller room. Storm
sewer and manholes have been placed and water line and sanitary
sewer will be installed over the next couple weeks.
Storm sewer is about 75% complete. Foundations
for the shop and chiller addition are underway with some footing
and foundation walls poured and that work should complete
early next week. Installation of the new waterline will begin
next week. Work continues on reinforcing the joist in the
existing building. Electricians are working on conduit for
the main electrical service, as it will connect to this new
mechanical area.
Work continues on plumbing inside
the building and in the tunnel. All paving demolition south
of the building has been completed. Utility work is just starting
with a significant portion scheduled to happen the week of
November 8. Footings for the new auto shop and mechanical
room addition are also scheduled to start the week of November
8. Issues with the connection of the storm sewer to 35th Street
have now been resolved – the bore beneath 35th Street
will be to an existing manhole rather than to a newly created
one.
