1B (Infill of Tiger
Court & area between Field House and existing building)
East Commons rest rooms have wall and floor tiles set. Most
electrical fixtures are in. Hard ceiling is in and prime painting
is complete. East Commons has been prime painted in most areas.
Electrical fixtures have been hung and protected. Floor tile
scheduled to start the week of 3/13. Door and window frames
in east Commons and areas immediately off of those Commons
have been set and most ceiling grid and electrical fixtures
are in place. The Media Center has most ductwork in place.
Doors and window frames are set. All drywall hung, but still
needs to be taped. The North/South Commons drywall has been
hung and taping is in process. Most sprinkler piping has been
hung. Door and window frames are set. Temporary walkway scheduled
to be removed next week. Entry doors to the north have been
set. Administrative offices have all sheetrock hung, taped,
and prime painted. Ceiling grid is being installed.
1C (New 2-Story)
All floor slab has been installed. Face brick work well underway
on the east side of the building with the south side complete.
Block work in the south Commons rest room is in process. Plumbing
is well underway on the first floor. A few walls in the core
area have been framed. Plumbing work continues in the main
rest rooms in the core on both levels. First floor ductwork
on site, but not installed as yet. Second floor masonry continues
on corridor walls. Much of the second floor ductwork has been
placed. Wall framing nearly complete in the second floor classrooms
with still some to take place in the center core.
All in all, work coming along nicely with
move-in scheduled for 1B in mid-July and still targeting move-in
of the 2-story in December.

East courtyard – Floor tile is underway. Most electrical
fixtures installed. Doors to existing building are now installed.
Carpeting cut and placed in office areas off of east wing.
Ceiling grid and light fixtures installed in this area also.
Stools, urinals, and drinking fountains installed in the east
rest rooms. Media Center – All exterior glass installed.
HVAC work is virtually complete in this area. Sheetrock hung,
taped, and floated, but not prime painted as yet. North-South
Commons – Light fixtures hung and most glasswork has
been installed. New north entry doors are in place. Temporary
walkway has been demolished and areas are now open, although
floor tile still remains to be done in the long east-west
corridor. Ceiling grid has been placed in this area as well
as in the office areas off the north-south corridor. Light
fixtures have also been installed. Electrical work is ongoing.
Turnover still anticipated for late May.
1C (New 2-Story)
Exterior brick work on the east side nearly complete. Scaffolding
should be down next week. Some work has started on the west
side and will begin in earnest next week. Interior block work
underway on the corridor walls for the 1st floor. Windows
on the south side of the building and stairwells have been
installed. Greenhouse framing is in process. Most of the corridor
block walls have been installed on the 2nd floor with still
some work on the north side. Interior dividing walls for the
classrooms have been framed with metal studs.
All in all, the building is moving
along nicely with 1C turnover looking good for the scheduled
December date.
