Update through February 25, 2005
Another unexpected storm sewer line has been discovered in the effort to try to bring the sanitary sewer line over to its new connection. The fix has been detailed by the engineers and the work should now be complete early the week of February 28. The roof on the new Boiler/Chiller Room and Auto Shop is complete and the area is totally dried-in. Exterior masonry has been laid and interior floor slabs have been poured. Electrical work continues, as does some interior masonry details and piping connections in the Boiler Room. The underground storage tanks east of the Field House have now been removed. The area has been restored and is ready for the next phase of construction. The new lid for the tunnel at the north end of the existing Mechanical Room has been poured and piping connections to new interior lines are in process of being made.

Update through February 11, 2005
The actual connection to the City sanitary sewer is taking place today. It was scheduled to happen earlier this week, but was postponed because of snow removal efforts. This will then allow the sanitary installation to take place across the parking lot and connect to the building. This work will commence today and be complete early next week. Preparation is underway to pour an isolation pad for the tank in the Chiller Room. The Chiller Room and Auto Shop are now fully enclosed. Work has started on setting the mechanical equipment support steel on that roof. Connections to the existing building are being cut-in. Piping and duct work are in process in the existing Wood and Metal Shop. Horizontal and vertical shoring for the east gymnasium wall has now been placed and removal of the underground storage tanks should happen next week. Wiring of electrical panels continues at the new north Electrical Switch Room. Roofing material for the new chiller/auto repair area is on site and will be installed as soon as the mechanical equipment supports have been set.

Update through February 4, 2005
The bore for sanitary sewer connection on 35th Street is finally complete! Work on installing the sewer line from that point back to the building will take place the week of February 7. Block work is complete on the new Chiller Room/Auto Shop. Roof deck has been set and face brick is well underway. New boilers and hot water tanks have been set in the Boiler Room. Drying out of the floor in the Chiller Room/Auto Shop is underway so that slab can be poured, hopefully late next week. All of the horizontal anchors for the tank removal have now been installed. Early the week of February 7, the extrusion piles will be installed to provide vertical support for the foundation for the Field House, which will then allow the removal of the tanks. Switch gear has been installed in the Electric Room also.
