Update through December 30, 2005
1B (Infill of Tiger Court & area between Field House and exiting building)
Air-handling unit for the east Commons was set. All roofing on in 1B – still have skylights to set, but holes are covered. Skylight installation is scheduled to start the week of January 2. Block and brick work nearly complete in the rest room bank at east Commons. Metal studs in most offices in the east Commons have been installed and sheetrock is being hung in that area. Ceiling in the existing hallway at the entrance to east mezzanine is being installed. Metal studs for some of the offices and classrooms on the north end of the north Commons are being installed. Still some slab on grade to pour in the north end of north Commons as well as the south end. Face brick for the new entrance on the north side has been installed.
1C (New 2-Story)
Approximately 85% of the deck for the 2nd floor has been installed. Slab pours were scheduled for this week, but didn’t happen and now should happen the week of January 2. Metal stud exterior wall framing complete on the south side of the building and now working around on the west and east sides. Approximately 1/4 of the slab on grade has been poured. Working on the steel to tie into the existing field house.

The site is a typical wintertime site – muddy, lots of ruts and fairly sloppy, but 1B should start improving quickly as the balance of the slab is poured and the roof is on that area. Most of the face brick is on the pump house and the pumps are fully operational. The slab has been poured in the south Commons rest rooms.

Update through December 16, 2005
Work continues, but weather has slowed the progress a bit. Roof is on the east Commons and that area will soon be dried-in. Metal studs for walls installed in much of the east Commons and in selected areas elsewhere in the infill area. Preparing to heat the east Commons so that block work and other crafts can begin work in this area. Roof for the balance of Phase 1B (the west Commons and Media Center) is scheduled to be complete before Christmas and contractors are working through the weekend to try to make that happen in spite of less than ideal working conditions for roof work. Many of the walls framed in the Special Ed. area. Face brick is being installed on the pump house addition. Floor deck for the 2nd floor on the 2-story is approximately 25% complete. The first pour of floor deck is scheduled for the week of 12/19, weather permitting. Steel work detailing continues throughout the project. Cut-in for ducts into the Field House are completed and some ducts installed and painted. Face brick for the main entrance has been completed. Overall, the project is on schedule, however, the 1B portion (Tiger Court infill) continues to lag a bit on its portion of the schedule.
