Construction
on the addition and remodel of Indian Hills Junior High School,
9401 Indian Hills Drive, Clive, IA 50325-6321, began in June 2009 and
is scheduled to be completed in the for the beginning of the 2009-10 school year.
Air Handling Units were set, holes were cut in the roof to drop the pieces through. AJ Allen Company is tying three new 3000 gallon grease interceptors into the building. The old bituminous room was replaced with PCV roofing. Classrooms are being demo'ed and new rooms will receive new ducts, lights, ceilings, paint, and carpet. In the Science Center the cabinets are being reinstalled along with new ducts, lights, coutners, faucets, carpet/VCT, paint and ceilings.
The 400 existing lockers were demo'ed early in the week in preparation for the new lockers. There will be 800 new lockers in Valley colors black and orange. Replaced the mauve folding partition with the new vinyl wall covering. Slab preparation has begun for the kitchen. The new walk-in cooler is stored on site and will be installed once the slab is in place. There are new boiler room pumps and piping and new electrical switchgear. The new insulation duct for the gym has been partially completed. New AHU have been fully assembled after being craned in from the roof.
VCY in west hallway, new grout in restrooms. The old science counters have been removed and new ones are to arrive toady. The lights and ceilings are installed. AHU-8 - all duct and piping is connected. The unit will be started this week. Classrooms have walls painted, flooring and base now completed and new lights and ceilings. The science center has new vinyl wall covering on demountable walls. The west pod VCT is complete. The wall base and ceiling tiles will be installed this week. Lockers will be installed in August. New walk in cooler has been installed and that contractors are working on the final connections. There is new ductwork in the student center and is ready for drywall and then paint. |
