Work on the west wing in-floor radiant heat pipes continues.
About one-half is ready for the first slab pour that will
place on Sept. 26. The rest will be ready the week of Sept.
29. Some of the concrete block work has started in the east
wing. Pre-cast is being set in the gym and mechanical areas.
However, pre-cast erection has not hit full stride due to
slow delivery of the steel that ties the pre-cast together.
Steel for the center section is now scheduled to be delivered
the week of Sept. 29. A double crew is expected to start in
early October and will accelerate the pre-cast erection. The
majority of the parking lot has been paved. Approvals have
been received now for the Eighth Street widening and the contractor
is pricing the changes that have been required by the City
to the original plan. The approaches to Walnut Creek are scheduled
to be placed early the week of Sept. 29.
The majority of the north parking lot has been paved. Due
to a permit issue, the paving of the Eighth Street widening
was delayed. The City has now approved the work and it will
begin next week, as well at the approaches into Walnut Creek.
The east wing in-floor radiant heat pipes have been installed,
completing that slab. Work on the west wing pipes has begun
and the first slab pour will happen next week. It should be
completed by the end of the month. Pre-cast is being set in
selected locations, but is delayed due to steel delivery.
Steel for the center wing is scheduled for next week and will
allow for a faster pace on the erection of pre-cast. The steel
erector will have a double crew the week of Sept. 29 to speed
up the process. The storm sewer has been connected to the
Eighth Street one and the water connection should be complete
in the next few days. Virtually all of the underslab utility
work is complete.
A portion of the north parking lot has been paved and another
concrete pour is scheduled for Sept. 5. The section of Eighth
Street that was widened is nearly ready to be paved. It should
be completed early next week. The Walnut Creek parking lot
has been paved and a power pole has been moved, so the approaches
and curbs will be completed in the next few days. The helical
piles have been completed. This was necessary to deal with
the rubble found in the southwest. The footings in this area
should be completed later this week. Radiant heat pipes are
being installed in the east wing to prepare for the floor
slabs. Erection of pre-cast and steel is scheduled to start
next week and a second erection crew is anticipated to be
on site in mid-September. Most of the site utilities are now
in place.
