The front entry sidewalk has now been poured.
Most sidewalk work is complete with a few areas needing odds and
ends or fill-ins completed. Work is underway on the play structure
for the kindergarten area. Other site work is proceeding as weather
permits. Most ceiling grid is up throughout the building with the
exception of the grid for clouds in the second floor corridor and
the dining area. Most ceiling painting is complete in the central
area. Most lights have been installed in the west wing and that
work is underway on the first floor of the east wing. Most ceramic
tile is in place with some grouting work remaining. Most bathroom
fixtures are set in the first floor restrooms for both wings. Millwork
has been installed in the west wing and is underway on the first
floor of the east wing. Vinyl flooring in the west wing is installed
in the corridor and the living rooms. Electrical work is lagging
and the push is on for a manpower increase from that contractor.
Masonry work for the elevator is now complete and the last phase
of the elevator installation should start next week. Prime painting
is complete in most areas and finish painting is underway in selected
areas. Installation of vinyl tile for the dining room is scheduled
to start next week. Some of the mechanical units have been started.
Little site work was completed this
week due to rain. Sidewalk beneath the entry canopy has been poured.
Vinyl tile is being installed in the west wing proceeding from west
to east. Ceiling painting is underway in the center wing and mostly
complete in the east wing. Some ceramic tile work remains to be
completed in the restrooms. Floor tile is complete in the kitchen.
Lights are being installed in the west wing and most of the ceiling
grid is complete in the east wing. The first phase of elevator work
is scheduled to be complete this week. Masons will be in to finish
their work around the elevator next week and then the elevator contractor
will come back to complete his work. Toilet partitions are now on
site and some plumbing fixtures have been set.
Work continues on the exterior as weather
permits. Concrete areas outside of the dining room now are virtually
complete. Forming has started for the main front entryway. Most
of the site has had black dirt spread and seeding is complete. Still
a few spot areas of sidewalk remain to be completed. Most ceiling
grid is in place in the west wing and nearly half completed in the
1st floor of the east wing. Some air diffusers are now installed
in the west wing and floor preparation is underway so that vinyl
tile work can start in the west wing corridors and living rooms.
Painting continues in the central wing, with most areas prime painted.
The east wing also has been prime painted. Tile has been laid in
the kitchen and is complete in all the restrooms with the exception
of the 2nd floor east wing, where it is underway at present. Technology
cable is still being strung throughout the building. The sprinkler
contractor is putting finishing touches on his work. The high windows
on the north end of the gym have now been installed. Millwork and
cubbies are still being assembled and installed in the west wing.
The basketball hoops are now in place in the gym. The elevator equipment
is set to start installation early next week. Roof trim and flashing
is underway.
The site work is underway as weather
permits. Seeding of the property is scheduled for end of this week
and the beginning of next. That should complete the majority of
the seeding. The play structure for the 1st and 2nd grade is complete.
Work is ready to start for the Kindergarten play area and the structure
for the other grades is partially complete. There are a few areas
where sidewalk needs to be completed with the front entry being
the main portion scheduled for completion soon. Drywall is hung,
MDF board is in place, and most prime painting is complete in the
west wing. Ceiling grid is in place in most classrooms on the west
wing and has been started in the corridors. Most millwork for the
west wing is on site and installation is underway. The east wing
has most drywall and MDF board in place. Most of the taping and
floating is also complete and prime painting has started in this
wing. Taping and floating remains to be completed in certain areas
of the center wing. The gym has been prime painted. Basket supports
are currently being installed. One chiller is set and roofers are
finishing details and flashing for the roofs. Ceramic tile floors
are complete in two large bathrooms with another one near completion.
Also, ceramic tile work continues in selected spots around the building.
Vinyl floor tile work for the living room areas of the west wing
is scheduled to start next week.
