Through January 15
Work continues on the roof as weather allows. The steel issues that have delayed the roofing have now been resolved. Work is underway on the dining area roof and should be complete very soon. The majority of the west wing has been roofed and a second roofing crew will be added next week. This crew will start on the east wing, the goal being to have both the east and west wings completely roofed by the end of the week of January 19, leaving only the roof for the administrative area and the mechanical room to be completed the week of January 26. Work continues on the exterior steel erection and that work is expected to be complete the middle of next week. The interior burnished block work is complete in the west wing and very near completion on the first floor of the east wing. Masonry work will start on selected areas of the exterior next week. Work continues on the plumbing and mechanical rough in throughout the building. Stairs are now scheduled to be on site in late January. Interior wall framing for the second floor east wing is scheduled to start next week.

Through January 8
The weather has slowed progress on the roof, but work has now resumed. As previously noted, the roof over the gymnasium and media center is complete and they are currently working on the roof for the west wing with the majority of that now scheduled to be completed soon. The roofers will then move to the east wing and then to the final area to be completed over the dining room and mechanical room. Issues regarding steel details have been resolved and roof deck is complete in most areas. Studs for interior walls in both the east and west wings continue to be placed and work continues on enclosing the exterior walls on the second floor of the east wing. The masons are installing non-load bearing block walls and burnished block in the east wing and expect to start soon on portions of the exterior block. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work is well underway with significant amounts of plumbing and electrical rough in placed in the west wing. A majority of the duct work for the gym has been installed. Final framing for the east wall of the dining room is now being placed. Delivery of metal stairways continues to be delayed and is now scheduled for arrival late in January. The most critical element to be completed at this time is the roofing and dry weather is the key as the roofers move toward getting a roof over the entire structure.
