Update through August 26, 2004
Wet weather is hampering progress somewhat this week. There are still some footings to pour for the north addition. In areas where footings have been poured some walls have been poured and some are in the process of being formed. The footings for the south addition are complete. Underground plumbing for the south addition is nearly complete. Block for the walls has been stocked and work to lay that block is scheduled to start on Monday, August 30. Electricians and plumbers are also working in various areas on the inside of the building. Bases for the electrical poles in the south parking lot have been poured. Grading for the south parking lot has been completed with a couple of small areas that need to be reworked. The south parking lot, as well as the northwest turnaround, are both on hold for any further grading and paving. A resolution regarding usage of land on the west side of the creek and how that might affect play areas and, thus, the parking and turnarounds is being considered.

Update through August 19, 2004
Grading is complete for the south parking lot, as well as the new parking and turnaround on the west side of the building. Trenching and conduit for parking lot lights has been placed. The soil rework has been completed for the south building addition and those footings have been poured. The plumber is redoing the underground piping in this area. Footings for much of the northwest addition have also been poured, with one section still remaining to be completed. Rain has slowed that process, but tying of rebars and preparation for setting of wall forms in that area is underway. The storm sewer line that runs beneath the north portion of the building has also been installed.

Update through August 9, 2004
The rain early last week slowed progress, however, the area to the south has now been fully excavated and backfill is underway. Excavation is complete on the northwest portion of the building also. The goal is to have the south backfill placed so that footing work can start the middle of this week to be immediately followed by footing work on the north portion. Rough grading has been completed for both the north and south parking lots, however, paving on those lots will not take place until after footings have been placed. One major storm sewer line needs to be replaced beneath the north portion of the building and that work will start later this week. Demolition inside the existing building is complete.
