For students entering kindergarten this fall

Safety Town is an educational program introducing safety awareness and preventative procedures to young children. Some of the topics covered are safety around strangers, fire, water, buses, poison and traffic. Children will have an opportunity to learn through experiences in the Safety Town village, a field trip to the West Des Moines Police and Fire Departments and various classroom activities. Safety Town is offered to children entering kindergarten the Fall of 2009 in the WDMCSD. Space may be limited.

2009 Sessions

Location
Hillside Elementary, 713 Eighth St., West Des Moines

Cost
$40 registration fee that includes a t-shirt. Scholarship applications available. Call 633-5001 for details.

Registration/Drawing
Return the form by 4:30 pm on April 27 to Community Education, 3550 Mills Civic Parkway, West Des Moines, 50265. Forms will be processed through a random drawing to give everyone an equal chance to participate. Registrations received after 4:30 pm on April 27, will be accepted as space permits.

Confirmation
Confirmation letters will be mailed by May 4. No refunds after June 1.

Group Registrations Carpools and Daycares
Carpools – All registrations and payments must be sent together.
Daycares – If your child attends a daycare center that provides transportation to Safety Town, then turn in the registration form and fee to the daycare.
Available Sessions: Daycare Groups must register as a group for Sessions 2, 4, 6 or 8. Deadline: Daycares must register as a group and turn in forms and fees to Community Education by April 20. Only WDMCSD applicants will be accepted.
