• Need additional programs, better paying jobs, more after school activities, more funding, opportunities to participate in all activities for people with low income
• Bridge gap between “have” and “have nots”
• Eliminate embarrassment for people in need
• Reach families who are not as affluent or functional as others
• Recognize there is poverty in West Des Moines and deal with it

People with Health Challenges, Disabilities and Special Needs (10 Responses)

• Provide easier access to medical services
• Improve access and services for high school students with health concerns and disabilities
• Increase respite service for caregivers
• Do investigative reporting (have someone go around in a wheelchair)
• Offer more opportunities for children with special needs
• Offer more programs for kids in need
• Offer sign language classes
• Teach about deafness and deaf culture
• Involve persons with special needs

• Find people to represent non-English speaking groups
• Provide translators for school conferences
• Need more interpreters
• Need more translators to help handle problems
