Through the years, different methods have been used to assess the needs in the community. On average, the Community Education Advisory Council conducts a needs assessment about every five years.

This time the council primarily used community conversations to gather data. The survey was also posted on this website and in the Community Education newsletter. Copies were available at various school sites. Approximately 300 people participated. Twenty groups run by 35 Community Education Advisory Council members generated over 3,500 responses which were recorded word for word.
